Exploriso: Low-tech fine Art: A Multi-Layered Compendium

The establishment of a large number of small independent publishing houses fifteen years ago led to a revival of risography. At this point, artists and designers from all over the world have installed a “Riso” in their studios. With such printer, they produce small print runs inexpensively and independently of large printing houses. Smaller, self-initiated publishers in Latin America still print exclusively on the Risograph on grounds of cost.

Dirk Reimes—sous un ciel partagé entre nuages et éclaircies

Dirks book »sous un ciel partagé entre nuages et éclaircies« (under a sky of clouds with brighter spells) is the result of a year-long research project in Brussels and combines autobiography with fiction, everyday experiences with collected first-hand accounts. In photographs found at flea markets, and a text that conjures up encounters with some of the people depicted, past and present come together and speak of life’s transience and our vain attempts to pin down time.

Sommer Der Künste: Villa Massimo zu Gast in Stuttgart

German Academy Villa Massimo Rome presented itself in collaboration with eight partners from Stuttgart. Two academic years, 18 Rome scholarship holders from the years 2022/23 and 2023/24 – showed works, which were created in Rome or especially for the presentation in Stuttgart, in exhibitions, concerts and readings in various institutions and in public spaces — our institutional identity summarized the institutions efforts.

An event and its faces: 500 years of the Peasants’ War [Ein Ereignis und seine Gesichter: 500 Jahre Bauernkrieg]

“Five hundred years ago, the Peasants’ War shook the established order and left behind a tangle of voices, images, and conflicting interpretations. Even today, contemporary accounts and later readings overlap. The 2025 anniversary highlights this diversity: not one narrative, but a mosaic of perspectives. Böblingen, as a historic battle site, positions itself as a place of encounter where the faces of the uprising appear—fragmentary, multilayered, and in dialogue.

Krise. Knappheit. In Böblingen« [War. Crisis. Scarcity. In Böblingen] that we crafted within new identity of the museum.
