Art direction for »Das Ticket«, the bespoke city guide by SSB, Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG, the principal public transport operating company in the city of Stuttgart. As the SSB transports 180 million passengers per year, »Das Ticket« is the perfect platform to promote the city’s cultural life.

After we already worked on the website for »Das Ticket«, we are extremely happy to be asked once more to transform the digital identity into a locally printed magazine. Together with Room Service Europe, one of SSB’s partners on digital endeavours such as content creation, who are the driving force behind the magazines editorial work we were in charge of the visual identity and the art direction. Throughout the publication QR codes establish a link between website and printed copy.

On 88 pages the new magazine reports on Stuttgarts cultural scene. Driven by a lot of different characters and persona, it displays the substance of talent among Stuttgart society, whether they are upcoming musicians, DJs, photographers, influencers or illustrators.

Another big field of the magazines is Stuttgarts creators and makers of the cultural scene of Stuttgart. Whether it’s art educator Sara Dahme, who introduces her Kunst Kiosk, Stadtpalais Stuttgarts’ managing director Torben Giese, who was interviewed on a cable car ride with Stuttgarts famous cable car, the magazine gives a vast look on Stuttgart life.

Last but not least, the magazines hedonistic approach also spotlights some of Stuttgarts food creators; digital and physical.

Tara Hariri from Mangiare Collective is accompanied while shopping ingredients and explaining her approach, as well as friends and family of the DAS TICKET editorial team, who test different venues with various cuisines and influences that can all be experienced in Stuttgart.

The first issue of DAS TICKET was released in a print run of 20,000 and distributed for free in Stuttgart subways and the ticket offices of SSB.
